Description
In 1641, unchallenged by portraits of the rich and famous, the Dutch master, Rembrandt, indulges in auctions and in helping his adolescent neighbor, Samuel. Samuel works as Rembrandt's studio apprentice. Much to Samuel's dismay, the artist also neglects his infant son. After being convinced by Samuel to fulfill his parental duties, Rembrandt breaks with artistic convention to follow his heart, resulting in his masterpiece, The nightwatch.
