Description
"Equines and education can come together for the mutual benefit of both. There are thousands of horses, mules, and donkeys in need of homes. There are many children who are not able to read on their grade level. Bringing educational programming together with the calming presence of equines can create a place for both to learn and grow together. In today's world, literacy rates are declining rapidly. Large percentages of children are reading below grade level. The traditional school setting does not always meet the needs of all students. New and creative programs are needed to reach these students who are not reading successfully and are falling through the cracks of our educational system, especially since the onset of Covid-19, quarantines, and online learning. Putting together these students with equines can create a risk-taking and more stress-free environment where both can learn and thrive together."--Leaf 4
